Pam Christensen, 'Mum's & Bub's Classes'

Concept Costuming

 

Pam Christensen was born in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, in 1941.  Pam began designing and sewing for wardrobe in the early 1960's.

 

Coming from an Acrobatic background, Pam expressed an intuitive feel creating costumes to suit movement of the body with a flare for a 'great line' in the cutting of her designs.  Pam's Uncle was the first Musical Director of the 'Napier Frivolity Minstrels' in 1897.  Creativity running in her genes Pam assisted as Wardrobe Mistress for the Napier Frivolity Minstrels and the Napier Operatic Society.

 

Pam Christensen, Costumes for many years including the Eastern Institute of Technology and the Hastings Comedy Company.

 

Pam most recently made costumes for productions such as 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'The Producers' and 'Return to the Forbidden Planet'.  Pam was sewing costumes for students of the 'Shirley Jarrett and Anne Bradley Academy of Dance' in 1970 and went on to design and sew costumes for Megan Hanley in 1995 - 2000.  Pam joined with 'Umbrella Studios' in 2008 and is the design and manufacture / wardrobe supervisor for the development of the new 'Mum's & Bub's Classes' in Sydney.

 

There are 200 costumes per syllabus for the three-syllabus program.
